Good Morning, Everybody! I hope everyone’s day is off to a fine start.
Last night I attended the Philly Food Blogger (and reader! ) Meet-Up.
I have to say I have never met such a great group of women, before! Each one was so personable and nice. I’m already looking forward to seeing them, again.
The setting for our evening was Garces Trading Company, 1113 Locust Street. It was an incredible restaurant! When you walk in, it feels like you are in another country. The decor was very special, while simple.
In addition to being ‘dine-in’, it also is a ‘market’ (as the name describes). They also have a lovely wine store (since the restaurant is byob). There is a beautiful selection of cheeses, and accompaniments; which are their specialties.
The menu was beautifully laid out:
They had, of course an amazing assortment of cheeses
I had theVichyssoise Chaude(soup pictured above) . . . potato, leek, bay scallop, chive, bacon
Absolutely one of the best things I’ve ever had: 2 bay scallops were served with leeks and bacon…and the server came out with a little pitcher and proceeded to pour the soup component over them. Oh my yum!
I also had to try the Verde Pizza (also pictured above)…spinach, ricotta, green asparagus, arugula, fava beans.
Incredible! I ate about 1/3 and brought the rest for lunch today :-D
For dessert a few of us sampled the Spring Verrine…buttermilk panna cotta, grapefruit curd, pistachio-hazelnut crunch.
So delicious, and the perfect amount.
Would I go back? Absolutely!! It was such a lovely ambiance and the food was out of this world.
A special -evening with truly wonderful fellow food-bloggers & readers :)
