Good Morning! Sorry for the delay in posting but last night was a busy one. Packing, dinner, and on the road in an effort not to hit traffic. In the end we decided to slow it down a little, get dinner, and miss the pm rush hour. I love date night.
Sabrina’s is ‘our place’…Luke and I have so many wonderful memories from this restaurant; New Year’s Eve, Brunch during the biggest snow storm in Philadelphia history, and regular ‘ole date nights like tonight.
I absolutely love this restaurant. Its simple, low key, and serves amazing food. I have never been dissappointed here.
It’s a byob and tonight was certainly an evening to take advantage of that. I brought the bottle of Pinot Noir that my mom brought last time she visited for lunch. I wasn’t driving so I could indulge :)
For dinner Sabrina’s allows you to order anything but their brunch specials (so all breakfast/lunch items are still fair game).
I decided to take advantage of one of the dinner specials…Vegetarian Bolognese. The description alone made me salivate: (From their website)
Summer squash, Zucchini, & Tomato Sauce. Fresh Whole Wheat Parpadelle Pasta and Fresh Goat Cheese.
I know. Absolutely amazing… the words “Oh my gosh, wow, wow, this is amazing (etc)” may have been inserted into every break I took from chewing. This was one of the best dishes I’ve had in Philadelphia. So fresh and every bite was filled with something memorable.
And they allowed me to make it a half portion instead (never hurts to ask) and it was the perfect size.
Luke got the Grilled Angus Burger: Smoked Bacon, mango, fried jalapeno, pepper jack cheese, and barbeque-onion-cilantro-ragu.
I had a bite and it was really a decadent burger filled with amazing flavors. The mango added so much to this burger.
A wonderful date night and a wonderful place. After our meal, I spoke with the owner and commended him on how great my dish was. What a nice guy!
Another lovely evening at Sabrina’s Cafe.
Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone!! I have a lot on the agenda today (haircut, car inspection, other errands). Hopefully I can accomplish at least a few. Anyone have any good plans? I’ll be back later with a post about Luke’s Dad’s Birthday dinner!
