I had the pleasure of visiting Osteria in Philadelphia.
I had heard about this restaurant from Sabrina and, since I trust her judgment, knew I had to visit.
So, when my boss, Brian, invited Luke and I to join him there for dinner I happily complied!
This restaurant exceeded my expectations!
The decor was perfect- classy and rustic.
Once seated, we were served a nice variety of breads and bread sticks with a small container of olive oil.
Very very good olive oil.
We all split a vegetarian antipasto that was really quite delectable. After I finished basically all of the roasted brussel sprouts, Luke observed “you know there is bacon in this”… huh?! Oops…that was a bit deceiving.
The server was extremely helpful and recommended a perfect red wine to go with my dish.
For my main dish I ordered Fusilli with Fava Beans and Mint. To.die.for…intensely rich.
For dessert, we shared the Chocolate-Mint Gelato and each had an espresso.
Both were amazing…the gelato is the first I’ve had in the US that compares to that of Italy.
An indulgent evening indeed.
This restaurant was spectacular and I will definitely be back (this time, camera in hand :) )
Thanks for treating us, Brian!!
Tonight, Luke and I are both in need of some R&R and leftovers are in order.
I defrosted a container of last week’s Ribollita and mixed it with some whole wheat pasta.
