Today is the day! 23 years old!
I feel great about all that I have accomplished in the last year- I’ve improved in the areas I’m most passionate about- cooking, entertaining, and decorating.. and I’ve improved as a person as well. As people, we’re constantly evolving. And I think part of the fun of a birthday is to acknowledge where you were, where you are, and where you want to go- even if you’re not too sure about the last one just yet.
One of my birthday presents to myself was a “new” 1950’s vintage dresser with original limestone paint and brass knobs.
After the hassle of getting it into the house (thank you, Luke!) it couldn’t look more perfect! I love the ‘shabby chic’ look. Luke says it reminds him of one of our favorite restaurants, Sabrina’s. They have a lot of ‘old’ furniture and knick knacks in their restaurant but they look like they belong there. Slowly but surely our house is becoming a true home :)
One of the fun gifts Luke gave me was this book:
How perfect! I cracked it open immediately… this goal falls somewhere in my 10-15 year plan.
That’s all for now. Thank you again to Sabrina and Stephanie for joining me at Brown Betty, Northern Liberties yesterday– a fun ‘girls day’! I’ll include some photos once I get a hold of some of theirs :)
Tonight Luke and I visit Mercato for the last of my birthday celebrations. I can’t wait!
