One of the things I love about the City is the opportunity to discover new streets and landmarks every time you leave the house.
This afternoon, L convinced invited me to join him at the local movie theater to see Catfish. A very cool movie, if I do say so myself.
On our way to the theater, we planned on grabbing a bite at an Old City restaurant. However, we stumbled upon a Local-Organic food truck at Headhouse Market and decided we must try it.
The truck is rightfully named Renaissance Sausage.
They feature organic sausages with fillings ranging from ‘Greek Inspired’ lamb to Chicken with Apple and Sage.
Luckily, L and I were torn between The Greek sandwich and the Apple-Sage. So, we ordered one of both and took a seat on the cobblestones to wait for our order.
The sandwich was perfect- an appropriate size with fabulous flavor. The Apple Sage sausage sandwich quickly became mine. It had a fig glaze with crushed walnuts. Absolutely delicious. Oh and the bread…don’t even get be started. Phenomenal.
The Greek sandwich was charming too- a lamb-beef sausage with hummus, tzaiki sauce, and chopped vegetables typical of a Greek Salad.
This one is a big seller at ‘the truck’. While it is tasty, I enjoyed the other far more.
Following, we stopped by the Three Sisters Farms booth and picked up two apples.
A perfect lunch, on a similarly perfect Fall day. Lunches like these are my favorite- no restaurant’s ambiance can compare to that of a bustling Fall market.
