And so another fabulous flower show comes to an end. If not for my particularly hectic week, I would have made it a point to post about it before it was too late. Now, I am left with no choice but show a few pictures that will tease and employ a “better luck next year” sentiment.
From the beginning, our exceptionally wonderful friend, Mike, offered us complimentary tickets to enjoy the flower show weeks ago. Upon hearing the theme of the year, “Springtime in Paris”, it was obvious that I was more than interested.
Wednesday evening, we enjoyed a meal at an old favorite, La Viola, right in the heart of Center City. Fellow Philadelphians, have you been? It’s a predictable yet consistent Italian b.y.o.b that warms my heart.
We arrived at the Convention Center and I was buzzing with excitement (and red wine). We met up with Mike and his friends from his hometown, found our way to the “exhibitor entrance” and entered the world of Paris in the springtime.
The exhibits were magical, but the overall sentiment of visitors even more so. Children were dancing on the stage, following the ‘can-can’ show. I heard stories of a young man proposing to his love on a beautiful bridge constructed for the event.
My favorites included:
Mike’s (of course); an exhibit featuring flowers, Parisian antiques, and vignettes made from recycled materials.
A beautiful Parisian Boudoir scene, made of flowers.
Let’s not forget the jaw dropping cake made my Buddy of Cake Boss.
And, of course, the beautiful base of the ‘Eiffel Tower’.
Mon dieu, I miss Paris.
