This weekend was properly filled with a few last minute get-togethers before I start up my Teach For America experience TOMORROW! I really can’t believe it arrived so quickly. I feel sort of ill prepared but regardless. here I go!
Yesterday afternoon, my beautiful friend Amy and I headed over to a spot that I’ve been itching to try for a while now…Cafe Lutecia.
Cafe Lutecia (I have no idea how you pronounce it) is your typical Parisian cafe. A bustling ‘bar’ with crowded tables inside, as well as several tables strategically placed under the awning outside. The walls are donned with Parisian antique photos and small objects.
The service is fabulous, despite the claims of some surprising experiences I read about on Yelp. The waitstaff is extremely friendly and eager to make suggestions and provide samples of their Soup du Jour.
I ended up choosing a combination 1/2 soup and 1/2 salad. What arrived was hardly 1/2 of anything! A huge bowl of Tomato Bisque soup that is perhaps the best I’ve ever had partnered with a large baguette with turkey and brie. I love brie. Yes, even in 95F heat.
This meal was filling, inexpensive, and rich with flavor. I will be back as soon as possible to experience the quiches. I’ve heard they can’t be beat.
