It has been three months since I last posted. A day or so before my life changed radically and brought me to today. It has been an unfathomably challenging few months. But, here I am, slowly working on balance (is that work ever done?) and adjusting course.
A quick summary before we move on to the passions I wish to share with you…
I am indeed teaching English to an eclectic group of students. For the sake of their privacy (and my job) I won’t speak much of it here. However, I’m only an e-mail away if curiosity overwhelms you. In the meantime, I’m in pursuit of my Master’s degree in education. “Busy” does not begin to describe it.
I’ve missed writing about my culinary and travel adventures immensely. So, while postings may be sparse, I want to resume.
On the forefront of my mind, my motivation through difficult weeks, is our trip to Istanbul, Turkey in the month of April, 2012. Oh mon dieu! Excitement is strong and mental focus on pushing these months by huge.
4 day stay on the European side in Sultanahmet in a quaint, boutique hotel and 4 days on the Asian side in what is similar to a homestay. The hospitality I’ve witnessed already is so warming.
And if we’re being honest, I spend each night reading one page out of Istanbul Select to calm my nerves and transport my mind. If you have any suggestions, please send them along. Personal recommendations the trip make (as I learned in Paris).
My friends, the positive words of encouragement I received from you brought me right back and I’m excited to be here.
