This weekend was perfect. A nice combination of getting out and about and having ample opportunity for rest and relaxation.
Saturday I packed up the car, opened the sunroof, and started the drive to my brother’s house. Halfway through I stopped at L’s mom’s for a quick lunch, conversation and continued on my way. Late afternoon I settled in with my favorite little man, my nephew, J, and enjoyed hours of cuddling and bouncing him on my knees until unfortunately it was time to go. Isn’t he just the sweetest? I can’t get enough, nor can I wait to see him in the little polo shirts I gifted him.
Sunday was a much needed day of “R&R”. We woke up early to get to our old standby of a brunch spot before the crowds. After, we walked for miles through the city, stopping at Rittenhouse to relax and soak up the early Spring rays and continuing on to a few stores, mostly empty due to the beautiful weather. We arrived home and immediately set to whipping up a perfect outdoor feast. Using all of the odds and ends in the kitchen, I assembled a platter of sandwiches, salads, fruit, cheese and wine.
We sat on our patio, read together and just had probably the most perfect afternoon as far as I’m concerned.
Have a great week!
