the weekend was a bit of go go go but really special and filled with celebrations with our family and friends. it’s hard to find that balance, you know…between weekends away and just hibernating at home or in town, recuperating from the week…but in the end the hustle and the bustle of jam packed weekends seems worth it, except maybe on Monday morning!
Saturday I woke up early to get to the market and pick up fresh baked goods- croissants, muffins, cinnamon rolls, you know the deal. I set up an easy brunch, stress free so I could focus on conversation versus preparation. My family came over and I just couldn’t get enough of the little babe, my nephew. His round belly and chubby little legs, oh my goodness I just can’t get enough. Don’t even get me started on that hair of his. He’s getting older now and those little mischievous smiles are coming out more and more. We took him in L’s family’s backyard, complete with clubhouse and swing set, and I sat on the swings with him, swinging back and forth…he loved it! We spread out a blanket and had dessert outside and just had the loveliest afternoon.
We spent the evening at our friends, Mike and Heather’s, first house. They’re getting married this summer and it was fun to see them setting up their home together.
Then on Sunday, we returned to the city and just as we did I headed out again to spend the early afternoon at a potluck lunch. We gathered together at Chrissey’s beautiful loft space and filled our bellies with delicious food and a little champagne. We also has a special guest, Sabrina‘s new baby, who was just such a sweetie.
The weekends have been so rich and full of life lately. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t already looking forward to the next.
Have a great week!
