My name is Lisa Stadler, and this is my blog, Lisa at Home. I am a freelance writer, curious traveler, and ambitious cook. Oh, and I am a firm believer in choosing your own adventure in every regard.
Since 2010, this has been my space to scribble my ideas for and takeaways from my home kitchen and my travels. Since then, I have traveled to far-flung countries, learned to cook, and in the process, discovered more about myself and my values.
I aim to travel as much and as far as possible, solo and now together with my husband. I believe in the power of travel to transform ourselves and deepen our understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of our world…That’s why I’m on a mission to encourage everyone who can to do it!
When traveling, my focus is more on immersing myself in local culture than luxury. Even still, I indulge. I experience and savor the local markets and the sites. I spend my days wandering and my nights working with local ingredients in our rented kitchen or being treated to a traditional meal.
My cooking has evolved considerably over the past six years. It has become less fussy and more focused on simple, seasonal ingredients. I like to let the ingredients do the talking.
We live in Pennsylvania and are surrounded by incredibly talented farmers who supply us city folk with year-round meat and produce. We are very fortunate.
Welcome and thank you for stopping by.
